Memorial day!

We spent our memorial day weekend partying it up. We had a potluck lunch at church yesterday where we enjoyed fellowship with sweet our sweet church family. Then today we spent the whole afternoon with our sunday school class at our friends the Flowers, who have a GREAT backyard by the way!
We enjoyed some much needed family time and a much needed day off. Averi played hard with her little friends and ended up soaking her clothes so got to run around in just her diaper while she played in the water, she had a blast!

For Nathan...

My sweet friends little boy is turning ONE and due to having two older sisters who are close in age his momma hadnt had the time to stop and focus on his part of the kiddos shared rooms decor so I asked if for his birthday I could do something special to hang over his bed... needless to say his momma was thrilled, I am so proud of how the letters turned out!

They just get better and better...

With every new picture I take of these two blessings I am more and more reminded of how incredibly gracious God has been in gifting me with two beautiful daughters! Even on the toughest days I know I have it pretty easy with these two!

five minutes...

My sweet neighbor/one of my best friends/ weight loss buddy had the fun idea to blow up water balloons and take our kiddos outside all decked out in their bathing suits to play with them. Sofie was sleeping so I couldnt go outside with them, but it lasted about five minutes... Averi was terrified of the balloons and Ashleys girls popped them in a matter of seconds... oh well we tried, it seemed like a good idea... and the girls looked so cute in their swimsuits!

7 months...

well miss P youve hit seven months! I cant believe how much fun you are! You are officially on formula, it was a tough decision for me but you are thriving on it! You can go from sitting to on all fours and back to sitting which hopefully means crawling is in your future soon. You are holding your own bottle which is very conveniant for us. You can pick up your "puffs" and are trying to get them in your mouth but have yet to succeed. You are still crazy about your sister. You have tricked us a few times and slept through the night but it has yet to happen consistantly, it will eventually! You are saying "DADADADADADADA" all the time and laughing at everything! We adore you Sofia Pearl!

The attack of Averi

i took Averi to feed the ducks the other day. these ducks must be over fed because they were not interested in eating her goldifsh, or maybe ducks just dont like goldfish. Averi REALLY wanted the ducks to eat her snack though, she practically attatcked them with her goldfish, and then when they would not eat it, she ate it herself!

New hair

After losing over 30 lbs and just feeling ready for a change I decided to chop off all my hair. I've felt in a rut with my appearance and with two kiddos just havent had time to fix my long hair... so I said goodbye to about nine inches of hair...here is the new do...

I love this life...

Here is to wishing we could keep these kiddos at this stage for a little longer and hoping the next stage is just as fun!

Lindsays graduation and bats game...

My dear friend Lindsay graduated from IUS last week. We are so proud of her and honored to celebrate her special night with her!

Kevin and I also got a date night last week thanks to Granny Reiter watching the girls! We went to a louisville Bats game with our sunday school. We enjoyed dollar hot dogs and good fellowship!

Story time...

We LOVE the library story time! They always do a theme and last week the theme was dinosaurs, so fun!
Here is Averi in her dino hat... it lasted about a day before she tore it up!

Growing and learning...

Last week we started hard core potty training Averi. I put her in big girl panties and sat her on the potty every 20-30 minutes, when she went she got a sticker or M and Ms. By day two she seemed to be getting the concept, when she would pee in her panties she would be very upset and tell me she was wet. By day three however we had a major set back, I would sit her on the potty and as soon as she realized she was going she would FREAK out she was literally terrified of pee coming out of her... poor girl! I tried sitting with her, encouraging her this was a good thing, we tried a potty seat on the big potty and her baby potty... she would go a little bit then scream and cry because she didnt want to go in the potty... so potty training is being put on hold for a while, we may pick it back up once we move.
She is however getting very smart! We do flash cards almost daily and she can recognize numbers one through five, and count one through five with little help, She is so close to singing her ABC's and begining to recognize her letters, she is starting to recognize colors although she tends to call most things either "green" or "purple"... she is forming sentances and chatting up a storm. Folks two is a FUN age!
This is Averi in her big girl pull up with her high heels...and studying her flash cards while sitting on the potty...

Sofie has been sitting up for a while now and can go from sitting up to her belly. If we sit her on all fours she will rock back and forth and lift her hand and move slightly forward, she just hasnt gottne how to move her feet forward too. I think she will crawl soon. She is loving formula and doing marvelously on it. She has been a much happier baby since we started it.
Both girls are getting to be so much fun! I just adore being their mommy!

Here is our Sof so close to crawling...

Parent dedication

Last Sunday was our Parent dedication at church for Sofie. It was a great reminder of our great responsability to raise both of our daughters up in the Lord. To train them the basics of the bible, scripture memory, the attributes of God, bible stories, to pray for them and with them, and to be an example of Christ to them. And most of all to pray that they come to know Christ at a young age! It was also a great reminder that our children are one of the greatest gifts God has bestowed upon us!
Kevins family came up from Tn to join us for the service. It is always a blessing to have them here. Averi talks about her nana, papa, Auntie K and I think it is safe to say her favorite Addison for days! It was a fun filled and relaxing weekend.
