Fav photo friday...memories

today's theme for Fav Photo Friday is memories!

My husband and I have only been together for 3 years and married nearly two of those! but we have made SO many memories along the way! My life before him has truly become a distant memory, he is my best friend and I can NOT imagine walking through life holding any one elses hand, he is my perfect match!

In love!

ENGAGED!!! November 2006 Kevin proposed at opryland hotel right in their atrium room with all the Christmas lights lit! We were consistently reading scripture together and he timed is so that that night he would be reading Proverbs 31, after reading it to me he explained how he had prayed for years for a wife that would fulfill these qualities and how I met those qualities he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I of course said YES!

June 23rd 2007... the day I married my prince charming!

April 21st 2008 we met Averi Noe'l and became a family of three!

Expecting our 2Nd child. A GIRL! Sofia Pearl Yates!

ITS A GIRL

We found out Friday morning that sweet baby Yates number two is another baby girl! We are thrilled! She was sitting at an awkward angle throughout the ultrasound so it was hard to get a good face picture but very easy to get the shot we needed to confirm it was definitely a girl- apparently she doesn't have much modesty!
Her first name is Sofia- which like Averi is just a name we both love! It means wisdom which we both hope we are able to instill in both our daughters and that they execute throughout their life! We plan to call her Sofie.
Her middle name is Pearl- which like Av's middle name Noe'l- is a family name. It is after Kevin's late grandmother "Annie Pearl". I only had the privilege of meeting his grandmother twice before she passed away but from what Kevin and his family tell me she was an incredible lady who always watched out for her family and cared deeply for them. We pray miss Sofia Pearl shows the same qualities Nanny Friar did, Kevin was particularly close to her and misses her deeply so it means so much to us both to carry on her name with our own daughter! So literally Sofia Pearls name means a Pearl of wisdom which we thought was very sweet! I will post pictures from the ultrasound later!

Mr and Mrs Veitz

Yesterday our dear friends Shawn and Lindsay celebrated their wedding day! It was one of the prettiest weddings I've ever seen and Lindsay was a picture perfect bride! I was honored to stand as one of her bridemaids! CONGRATULATIONS shawn and Lindsay have fun on your honeymoon!

18 weeks

I had a regular check up on tuesday, everything with baby Yates number 2 looks great! The heartbeat was strong, my bloode pressure was great and Ive only gained four pounds... I gained way to much weight with averi so I've worked especially hard to not with this baby and was SO pleased I had done so well as was my midwife! We find out friday what we are having, Kevin and I have no idea what we are having- we both thought girl but the last few days have begun to think boy... so who knows as long as it is healthy we are thrilled!
Here are some pictures of me from the wedding I was in over the weekend!

Spray tanning

Does anyone know anything about spray tanning while pregnant? My doctor with averi told me it was safe but I have not asked my midwife this time around for her opinion (I go tomorrow and was planning on asking then!). I've been reading up on it online but I can not find any clear answers, some say all the chemicals are safe, others say the chemicals seep into your skin and can harm the baby! I am in a wedding Saturday and REALLY do not want to be the only pale one on top of being the only pregnant one! Just wondering if anyone else has an answer or an opinion... I wasn't going to do mystic tan I was planning on getting spray tanned at a salon so it would be even. Let me know what you think or if you have any links with more info!

Mothers day

I had a perfect Mothers day today! Kevin woke me up at 330 when he got home from applebees and surprised me with a gorgeous jewelry box that said my initials and "thank you for being a great mommy"! It made me tear up!

We then went to church in the morning and I got to wear my new dress I got on clearance! I felt like an extra pretty Mama today!

After church we headed to lunch with my family! We ate Cheddars which is one of both me and my moms favorites!!!Yum! Then Kev, Av and I walked around a furniture store (this is one of my favorite pass times) and actually found a twin size bed for Av to eventually move up to for 68 bucks, you can't beat that! Then we went to Bass pro... where Av looked at the fishy- she loved it, Kev bought some fishing thing and got me a cute camo hat that says "bass pro trophy wife" ,lol!

In honor of mothers day I want to say first of all happy mothers day to all the amazing mothers I know, being a mommy isn't always glamorous but it is a gift God has granted us with so keep up the good work! I also want to say happy mothers day to my own mama and thank her for all she taught me and her help and support! Also happy mothers day to Kev's mom and Granny Yates- we love you both and can not express our gratitude for your support and love to us thank you! Here are some final pics of my sweet Av and my belly she is staring to discover... mommy loves you Av and you sweet baby number two I can not wait to name you in two weeks when we find out the gender!

stormy weekend

My mom, av and I headed out of town last night to go see my Nana and Papa (they are actually my aunt and uncle, moms sis, but my whole family has always called them Nana and Papa, and they really are like second grand parents to me!) in Jackson Ky. I know people often say they are "from the country" and I'm sure they are but Jackson is truly the country... Kevin was shocked by how "backwards" it is the first time I took him there. I love it tho as I truly feel it is home! My Nana and Papas farm is in the back of a "holler" (hollow)- Liitles Creek rd... the road you drive leading to it are literally two lane windy roads cut out of the Appalachian mountains- one side is mountain the other is the Ky river. There is one walmart, a hardees and Mcdonalds and that is pretty much it, oh and two maybe three stop lights- I love it!
The only thing that is unfortunate about Jackson is when bad weather hits it can take weeks even months for the roads to clear. Well last night it STORMED AND STORMED AND STORMED. Mom and U drove three hours to get to their house with a screaming averi (she is not a good traveler at all!) and got about 3 miles from their house when we ran into a line of stopped vehicles, part of the mountain had fallen into the road and we could not get through for that last three miles to see Nana and Papa!!! We turned around and headed into town and stayed at one of the two motels (the Jackson Inn) called Nana and Papa who were hopeful Papa could come get us in the morning and bring us in a different way. Averi got up at 5 am so so did Mom and I, we laid around the hotel got McDonald's and at about 6 30 Av went back down for a nap. I went back to sleep while Mom tried to reach Nana- unfortunately all the phone lines were down! We decided to go ahead and try to get in a back way mom knew, we didn't get far it to was blocked. We went back the main way and it was blocked worse then the night before! So we had no choice we headed back to Louisville!
What can I say when this kindve stuff happens you just have to laugh it off. Mom and I enjoyed the car ride chatting and singing silly songs to keep Av happy... and at least it is a good memory! Av did WONDERFULLY on the car ride back, I could not be more proud and we got home in plenty of time for her to take a second nap and for mommy to catch a nap! Hopefully we can work it out to go again soon and maybe Kev can get off work and go with us... Mom and I are just happy we didn't get stuck in the holler because it could be a week or more before those roads are clear to drive out off, I've never gone a week without my boy and certainly did not pack enough diapers, I would have been a hot mess!

This pic is in honor of my sweet girl who hates to be in the car and did so good on the way home! Way to go Av!

sixteen weeks

Here I am sixteen weeks pregnant! This pregnancy has been smooth sailing once I got past the first trimester! We find out May 22nd whether it is a boy or a girl... YAY! This pregnancy is flying by!

Bachelorette party!

We celebrated Lindsay's last few days as a single women last Friday night! We all got dressed up (I had a dress that I got for 6 bucks while I was pregnant with Av that fit... I was thrilled to wear it again!) and headed to cheesecake factory for dinner! We then went back to Lindsay's for desserts (some of us ate cheesecake so the desserts did not get much action!) games and gifts!
What fun it was to celebrate the upcoming marriage of my dear friend one more time and to spend time with so many girls I love! When I get the opportunity to have a girls night I am always reminded that while I am a wife and mommy (and would trade neither for anything in the world!) I am also a woman and need "time off" to just be a girl! Averi went to Meemoms and Popops to be spoiled for the night and Kevin was of course at applebees so I truly had the night off!
I can not believe Lindsay will become Mrs. Vietz in less then two weeks! We grew up in ninth and O's youth group together and now we are both going to be married women! What fun! I pray that God will make marriage a fun and easy adjustment for Lindsay as she learns to be submissive to Shawn as his wife and as she learns her roles in supporting him as He finishes school and goes into ministry, I pray that she finds joy in serving God by serving her family and that her good days are often and bad days are few and far between! I am excited to watch her continue to grow as a women of God and wife! Congrats Lindsay I can't wait to see you all Brided up on may 16Th!

Fav photo friday... RUN

Yesterdays theme for fav photo friday was RUN... I know I am a day late posting this but I guess late is better then never!

this picture was taken just after we were married, we were so excited to be Mr and Mrs Yates all we could do was hug, laugh and kiss... this is my favorite wedding picture! It always looks like I ran to Kevin and he just swooped me off my feet which is exactly what he did! I ran to him looking for a friend and got so much more, I found the absolute love of my life... he swooped me off my feet! I now run to him for everything... guidance, support, comfort, love, companionship, strength fun, advice, laughter... everything he is constantly reminding me how much our heavenly father loves us as he is a clear example in my life of Gods love for me! av cant physically run yet but she already crawls at an almost sprint to her daddy for comfort and fun... I know as she gets older she will look to him for her support in so many areas and he will also point her towards her maker! What a great daddy Av has and what a great husband the Lord gifted me!
